  Version 2 in Beta Testing
Version 2 has been undergoing beta testing for about a week now. There have been some bugs found and fixed. The new version is running smooth and we are looking at a launch VERY soon. (I know I keep saying that, but it is in beta testing right now! I mean, like, people are using it!)

Tried to fix a few things.
I did some more fixes around here. I hate to spend the time on this version, but as I run across things I can fix, I do. The photo situation does not look good at all. I do not think I will ever fix it. At this time, it looks like a full rewrite would be in order and that is not going to happen. I would rather keep hammering away at the new version. (By the way, if you have not voted in the poll above, please do so.) The new version really is shaping up well. I have a bit more to do on the public side (mainly the search engine) and some to do in the admin section. I will likely start to beta test it before the admin section is completed. No one sees that part but me anyway. If you have suggestions for features you would like to see, hit the contact link on the left and let me know what they are!

  Moved to a new server
We have recently moved to a new server which is quite a bit faster. It will not really fix any of the issues here on the DSM Registry. The only thing that will fix that is when I get around to finishing ver 2. Anyway, you will know when you are on the new server because the title of the page will state New Server in it. The database for the site is already on the new server and will be used by everyone. So if you update on the old server, the new server will still have the changes.

  Some more small updates
The new version, which really has been a long time coming, is still under development. Recently I noticed a couple of problems here and have made a few small code changes so that things will operate better. Please feel free to contact me if you notice anything still not working. The main search is currently offline as it was causing the server to drag down. It was written many, many version of PHP ago and the current version does not like it. It may not be coming back until the new version of the DSM Registry is released.

  Some Issues
I have been contacted by a few of you about some problems. I have fixed a few, but things like adding photos is still not working. I will see what I can do about it. I would rather put the effort into ver 2. We will just have to see what happens.

  Everything OK now?
OK, so I tracked down the login issue and fixed it. I hope that I got every situation of it. But if not, let me know via email at admin dsmregistry dot com. I know the ver 2 was supposed to be up a long time ago, but as I add more features, it takes longer to get done. The new version is AWESOME though. Maybe I can find some time to work on it again soon.

  Current known issue
OK, I have tracked down the issue with logging in. You can log in, but there are other issues. I am not sure if I can fix it faster than I can launch ver2. I am looking into it now.

  We have moved!
We are currently on a new server. There may be some issues. If you notice anything, please let me know

DSM Registry Version 2 Coming Very Soon!
I have almost completed the new version of The DSM Registry. It should begin beta testing within the week. I was going to open up the beta testing to all of the members, but the database is so completely different that I need to test it under a more controlled circumstance. Be on the watch for it as I know you will all love the changes. :)

  Happy Holidays Everyone!
Well 2005 is coming to a close very quickly and 2006 is upon us. The DSM Registry is in the lime light for us this year. We have been working on the code for version 2 for sometime now and we are hoping to release it soon. The code will be cleaner and quicker than ever with lots of new features. We also think we beat that junk mail box issue we have suffered in the past. So stay tuned and you will see some great changes. If you have any suggestions for features, don't hesitate to contact us and let us know.

Still No Luck Staying Out Of The Junk Mailbox!
The online mail services seem to be trying to rid the junk mail so much that our confirmation email will not be delivered to the inbox. We have tried everything we can think of. I even set my self up a Hotmail account and I can not even mail to it from my Outlook with out it going to junk. So at this time I am going to suggest you do not use any online mail services to sign up here. If we keep getting people registering with the online services and it keeps hanging up, we will have to ban the use of those email services during sign up.

  Some Updates Have Been Made.
We made some changes to the code that will hopefully fix the confirmation email problem. It seems it was a header issue. We also made some changes that will fix some bugs in the back ground. This will allow the registry to be even better.

  Still Problems With The Authentication
We are still running into all kinds of trouble with the different ISPs blocking our activation email. This is mainly hotmail and msn. Rest assured however that we are working on it. We are in the process of totally rewriting the email portion of the site. This should fix it. It is also going to allow us to add a few more features. :)

  pics.dsm.org is now open!!!!
I have finally tied the new National DSM Picture Reposity into the DSM Registry!!! You may now request a gallery on your profile update screen. It is down toward the bottom. Please note that we are requesting a $1 a month donation to be made (one year at a time) to help cover the costs of hosting a site of the magnitude the Picture page is/will be. I have over 3 gigs to upload already. Please send me any feed back you have on the pics page.

Pics.DSM.Org Will Be Tied Into The Registry!
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am currently working on pics.dsm.org and it will be tied into the registry. You will be able to select if you want a pic gallery on pics.dsm.org from your profile here on the registry. It will then be accessable for upload using your same logon and password that you use here on the registry. I hope to have this all functioning very soon. We will also be offering a small webhosting deal for anyone who wishes to have a small website for their DSM. More details will be posted on this very soon.

Thanks Again for using the registry.

If you did not receive your confirmation email...
I have received some bounced messages from various servers. Some of you try and be creative with your email addresses and they are not legit, some have filled their quota, etc.. Others may have been blocked by spam filters. If you are awaiting your confirmation email, contact us through the contact link on the left and I will get it to you. When you contact us, please include your username and the email it is supposed to be sent to (the one you signed up with). If you "accidentally" gave us the wrong email, try to include what you think you used, and what it really should be. It is very important for you to all know that we will not, do not, and will never consider spamming our members! Your email address will not be used outside of our direct contact with you. Thank You!

Future Additions Coming To The Registry
I was told by someone that "Future projects are lame." However, I think it is best to post this list here so I do not get 500 emails requesting the same additions. LOL! So with out further delay:

  • Adding and Intake and Fuel section to the mods list. (This is now done!)
  • Time Slip Upload: To be able to upload a pic of your actual time slip.
  • A link for Homepage/pic gallery so people may see more pics of your car. I am in the process of rebuilding pics.dsm.org, so this may tie in well. (This Is Now Done!)

A NEW FEATURE HAS BEEN ADDED!!!! You may now choose to have a page counter on your car profile. It is an available option in your Car Profile Edit Screen. It will appear at the bottom of your details page when your profile is viewed!

    More To Come...
  • December 20, 2003 10:38am

      A New Field Added!
You will notice in the car profile area that you may now list your Exhaust Modifications. It had not occured to me to include the exhaust, but it has now, and has been added.

Welcome To The National DSM Registry!
This is a brand new service so there may not be much to look at yet, but overtime that will change. Go ahead and sign up and add your DSM to the registry. Soon this will be an invaluable tool for finding other DSMers.

There are more features coming in the near future for this site. We will be adding things like: visitor comments, a Private Messaging system, member of the month, and more. Check back often and please keep your profile up to date.
